Well, today was the last official day that AVH had his NG tube in. After he weighed in at 18 pounds 9 ounces on friday, the doctor said that he was done! Hooray!!! We waited until AVH pulled it out himself to actually call him done, so he got 2 extra nights of feeding in. Now starts the uphill battle getting him to eat foods with more varied texture. I have been a hermit, but I think I will be even more so now as I try to keep pumping calories in him - it is a very time consuming process.
On another related note, I think I reported previously that he also has a tooth on the bottom right. We waited a long time for that one. The one next to it is due to pop through at any moment. So, like the mom that I am, I keep sticking my fingers in his mouth to see if anything has happened. Up to this point I have found nothing but today I stuck my finger in and got bit by a new tooth. NOT the one I was expecting . . . no, no. A very pointy bicuspid on the top left is what I found! Now, I have truly and literally prayed that my Down Syndrome son would have good teeth - I have to say I am little worried at this point. I think I have read something about DS kids getting their teeth in a random order . . . apparently that is true. Nice.

My sisters son had his cuspids grow in first and he looked so vampire-ish. It was cute. I bet your glad the tube is gone.
YAH! Now hopefully he can breath better! and I can breathe better babysitting him, knowing he won't pull it out, and cry, and freak the ba-geezies outta me! lol! for real! :) love him. despise the tube. i'm sure you did too...the matience of it....that is, not the actual good it did for him...yah know? yah, you do....you know what i'm saying, GIRRRRRL! *(say it to yourself the way i would say it!) hehehee. yeah girl. you know how i do.
congrats! that hopefully will be a thing of the past and I'm sure you will be able to conjure up tasty things that he will love.
