I have always been jealous of those moms that get the children who potty train themselves or have babies that just start sleeping through the night from the time of their birth. You know - it takes no effort on their part whatsoever, yet some of us struggle endlessly to teach certain skills and it can be fairly agonizing. I lamented all of that until this Tuesday. It was my turn.
My 5 year-old just picked up a bike at my visiting teacher's house and started riding. I really did nothing else except take the training wheels off his own bike when we got home. And overnight he has become a little expert . . . slowing down for turns, starting and stopping beautifully. Although he is pushing his luck a little because has been attmepting some simple tricks already.
It was like pulling teeth to get CMH on a bike at that age so we are all a little stunned at our house right now. We have thought on a number of occasions that AAH has some natural sports talent - maybe we were right.
Thank you for indulging this oh so proud mother.
