Today I performed my first act as Bishop's wife (that's a title I'm gonna have to get used to) . . . I had to go and buy 10 watermelons and 750 hamburger buns (Yes, 750!) for our stake's pioneer day celebration tomorrow - 'cause we found out late last night that the young adult in charge of purchasing these items was out of the state and forgot. Oops. You ask - "Can someone buy 750 hamburger buns at one store?" The answer is NO. Lovely. And do you have any idea how many packages of 8-little-buns that is?! A LOT. Out of the kindness of my heart, I decided not to clean out any one store entirely of buns. I left a token few on the shelf.
As I was watching the check out lady at Walmart count and scan the mountain of buns I tried to pack onto the conveyor belt I glanced over at CMH who was sitting on the floor and had in the last minute or two turned white as a ghost. He did NOT look well at all. Panic. He's got what AAH had the last couple of days. Great! I start chanting in my head, "Hurry, Hurry, Hurry Lady!!! Or you are gonna have a clean up on lane number 8!"
Fortunately she finished in a timely manner and I was able to coax my little Sick-O to muster some energy and push our extra cart full of buns to the car while I pushed the other one. He fell asleep on the 5 minute ride home and by some miracle hasn't thrown up yet. But just to be safe, I'll let the Bishop go and buy the last 230 buns from Safeway or Alberston's or somewhere he can find them.

oh, poor little guy! Tom had that, maybe it's going around...The buns, that's just hilarious! Leave it to singles ward!
Oh WOW Adrienne! What can I say. You are amazing and the Lord knows it. Don't be afraid to ask for help though. I'm a phone call away!
Ade... oh "single" Mother of three. I can't even begin to understand how you do it. I thought I had it bad with Aaron gone alot. You win hands down. I do love how sensitive you are to leave the "token" buns on the shelf for other customers. There is a reason why your family was chosen for all these "fun" callings. Love you guys, and miss you tons.
Adrienne, your blog is super cute & so funny. You are so amazing, I don't know how you do all that you do...superwoman! I told you about my friend Rachel that has a little Downs boy, Gabriel, and a poem that I loved on her blog. This is the link (http://cederstrom.blogspot.com/) and the poem is called "Shine". You have to scroll down a little; she is a regular blogger. I hope you like it as much as I did!
