AAH says the funniest things sometimes. I love to hear how he describes things in his little kid language. It is never how an adult would describe something but is makes so much sense. He makes me laugh.
However, his latest word has made me scratch my head a little . . . and I quote, "Dag Nabit!!!" (He uses this one when he is really mad.)
Yeah . . . I'm not sure where he heard it or why it's coming out now. I know I have heard this expressing before, maybe on an old cartoon or something. My question is, what does it mean and is it a substitute for some other naughty expletive? Does anyone know?
On the flip side, I got home from exercising this morning and I was talking with the kids and I looked over to AVH and he pointed to his eye, so I said "eye." And then he hugged himself ("love"). And then he pointed to me ("you")!

It was the cutest thing!!! Talk about melt a mother's heart. His signing is really incredible. It won't be long before we are hearing his little voice. Let's just hope it's a while before AAH is teaching him the words he knows!
CORRECTION: I just found this entry on UrbanDictionary.com
1. dagnammit
Similar to damn! Often used when the range of emotion/ rage you feel cannot be defined in just a singular expletive swearword.
Well, there you go. That's how you spell it and that's what it means. Lovely.

That's the best reward, I think, as a mother. To have a child say, unsolicited, that they love you. Or to do some sweet kindness that you haven't asked them to. They are little angels sent fron God.
Ade,
Dagnabit was in a lot of cartoons, after reading what the dictionary said I am sure the cartoon writers put a spin on it so there wouldn't be actual swearing on tv - I think Yogi Bear used it among others. I wonder if Andrew did hear it on tv. The story about Alex is sweet.
Love,

My dad used to say dagnabit all the time. Only he was colorfull enough to use the real words when he was really mad. Give Alex a big hug from his Ma - such a wonderful story.
That is hilarious! At least is was Dagnabit! Carter was mad at his bubbles the other day and said "damn it". Don't know where he heard that one!! :) Oops. I've been trying...that much is true! I love that story about Alex. What a sweetheart! I miss you!
Hahaha! That's awesome Ade! Funny thing is however, I say "dagnabbit" all the time!!
Love how he said that to you. Just melts the heart. Thanks for the Peanut Butter Apple Recipe, it sounds so good.
